My backyard is turning into a quarry due to all of the construction that I’m doing and the kids digging holes trying to help me.  I will use the help me term loosely since I have Qto fill in the holes they made.  I’m building the kids a new playhouse in back.

This is another reason why I’m so far behind on this challenge and why the posts for this challenge is short.

I hope to have the playhouse built-in a few weeks if the weather stays positive and nice.

Please feel free to leave comments below on your experience with kids while building things around the house.

Persuasive – The A to Z Challenge 2016

The definition of persuasive is “good at persuading someone to do or believe something through reasoning or the use of temptation.”. This is what you will get if youP look it up in Google.

My kids try their hardest to persuade my wife and I into doing things or getting things or going places for them.  Most of the time it doesn’t work.  I will give them E for effort.

The last thing I remember is that my youngest son try to persuade me into thinking he didn’t get a bedtime snack.  He did get a snack with the rest of the kids at the normal bedtime snack time right before bed.  He just didn’t want to go to bed so he tried to get another snack.  I have forgotten to give snacks before but this time I did remember giving him one.

In the end he didn’t get a snack as well as remembering that I gave him one before bed.

Please feel free to leave comments below on your experience with kids that try to persuade you.

O is for Open Minded – The A to Z Challenge 2016

Sorry for these being posted late.  I had a personal situation I had to take care of the past few weeks.  Now for the post.O

I try to have an open-mind with my kids as a way for them to have a open-mind as well.  I’m open to all possibilities in life from work to play time to social events.

This also allows me to be open to people for them to come up to me to talk.  I see this in my kids already.  They can meet another kid at the playground and become friends with them.  I’m always nice and friendly to new people that I meet.  I try to have a positive attitude of being everyone’s friend .

You never realized what you miss out if you have a closed mind.

Please feel free to leave comments below on your experience with people with open minds and closed minds.

Never Give Up – The A to Z Challenge 2016

I teach my kids to never give up on anything they do and try their best.  This is the way I was raised then I was in school and playing sports.  I end up being the first in my family to get a college degree while the rest went into the military services.  This is not a bad thing but it wasn’t the thing I wanted to do.N

I encourage my oldest  to do his best in school and when he does Coder Dojo.  Coder Dojo is an organization that teaches kids how to code.  He also wrestles for a sport so it is important to teach him to not give up.

My youngest son is also a wrestler.  He is mentally shower then most kids.  SO it is very important that he doesn’t give up.  Since he suffers from ADD.

My girls are good in school and they do gymnastics.  My youngest girl has club foot so getting her to never give up is also a way to beat her disability.

So it is always a good thing to teach your kids not to give up , but you can also over do it so be careful.  Please feel free to leave comments below on your experience teaching your kids to never give up..
