Psalm 23 is one of my favorite readings in the bible. When I feel nervous or fear for any reason, this reading helps me calm down and realize that God is by my side through this journey. If you have kids then you know the nervous and fearful feelings of a parent.
To me Psalm 23 talks about how you are not alone and to put your fears and trust into God. It also states how goodness and mercy will follow you until the end.
Here are two different bible translations of Psalms 23
Psalm 23
New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[1]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Psalm 23
English Standard Version (ESV)
The Lord Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[1]
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[2]
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[3]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely[4] goodness and mercy[5] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell[6] in the house of the Lord
forever.[7]
