Never Give Up – The A to Z Challenge 2016

I teach my kids to never give up on anything they do and try their best.  This is the way I was raised then I was in school and playing sports.  I end up being the first in my family to get a college degree while the rest went into the military services.  This is not a bad thing but it wasn’t the thing I wanted to do.N

I encourage my oldest  to do his best in school and when he does Coder Dojo.  Coder Dojo is an organization that teaches kids how to code.  He also wrestles for a sport so it is important to teach him to not give up.

My youngest son is also a wrestler.  He is mentally shower then most kids.  SO it is very important that he doesn’t give up.  Since he suffers from ADD.

My girls are good in school and they do gymnastics.  My youngest girl has club foot so getting her to never give up is also a way to beat her disability.

So it is always a good thing to teach your kids not to give up , but you can also over do it so be careful.  Please feel free to leave comments below on your experience teaching your kids to never give up..

Some days I go through the motions of being a dad and parent.  Not really thinking of what I’m doing but going on automatic.  There are days where I’m not going through the motions.  M

I have been realizing that I’m been going through motions more since I’ been busy at work.  I hate that feeling since I feel like I’m missing a lot with my family.  I even missed dinner a couple of days ago due to work.  It makes me depressed when I miss stuff.

I missed to many things this year like plays, concerts, and assemblies at school.  I hope the rest of the year gets better.

Laughing Out Load – The A to Z Challenge 2016

Hearing your kids laughing out load is the best thing to hear.  It tells you that your kids are happy, emotional healthy, and full of life.  Sometimes I forget this when I have a bad day at work or a very busy day that doesn’t evolve the kids.L

When I do remember this then I feel like I was a bad parent.  Every parent knows that you are your worst critic when it comes to what you do and you are hard on yourself as well.  So I just have to remember being a parent is not a sprint but a marathon.

I usually make it up to my kids the next day and spend as much time as I can with them.   This last weekend I took my boys out for breakfast and got both of them laughing and talking.  It was one of the best experiences for all of us.

I then took my girls out for Lunch.  They wanted to get all dressed up for their date with daddy and I dressed up as well.  They enjoyed having me take them out as they laughed and giggled at every funny thing that happened.  They all had a blast this last weekend to spend time with their dad and just laugh out load.

These moments are what makes being a dad to my kids worth it.

Knowledge – The A to Z Challenge 2016

My kids are always learning everyday like most other kids out there.  They also like reading stories and books about any topic that they can learn.  They also love going to the local library to play on the learning computers as well as getting to check out different books.K

My kids love learning for the knowledge.  They are wanting to learn as much as they can and then show my wife and I what they learned.

My youngest daughter loves dancing so she shows us new moves she learned.  My oldest daughter wants to and tries to be an artist by drawing the best pictures she can as well as coloring in the lines in her coloring books.

My youngest boy likes to show me what he learned with Minecraft and Lego’s.  If you don’t know about Minecraft then ask you kid or kids about it and they will be happy to explain it to you.  My oldest is the teenager that always likes sharing what he learned in a book or at school as well as showing how he is getting better at basketball.  Since wrestling is over for the year.

I love when they ask me to share my knowledge with them and watching their faces as they learn from what I teach them.  This could be a simple task or me telling them stories at bedtime.

Knowledge is a powerful thing to teach your kids.  The more they know the more knowledge they will have going out into this world we live in.
