Sorry for the late post but I was sick tonight with allergies. It is like having a full-blown cold and it is not fun when you are a father of four very active kids. Active kids that seek your full attention almost every single minute. It is hard for any parent that is sick. So this post is going to be short and hopefully to the point.

It is hard being a parent and sick in my house.  I have four active kids that is seeking my attention almost every single minute of the day.  All i want is quiet and to go to sleep, similar to what it is right now in my house.  I can write and relax without having the distractions from my kids as well as from our family dog.

Do you remember the last time you were sick and miss an important part of your child’s life or was it a normal day?  Please leave your comments below.

As the title of this post suggest, you will always teach your kids as a parent. Part of this process is that you will also learn from your kids as well as from other parents. Since you are reading my blog then you must be trying to learn from this or you just happened to stop by from a challenge that I’m in or even just for some humor.

The day that you became a father or mother is the day you also become a teacher to your child. It doesn’t matter if the child was born or adopted into your family you are still a teacher to that child. Not only a teacher, but the most important teacher your child will have.

You are asking why I made the statement about you are a teacher. It is because you are going to teach your child about life and what type of culture you are in. Kids are a blank slate when they are born and it is up to you as a parent to mold that child into the person he or she will grow up to be. This is called teaching and you are now a teacher.

I have taught my kids a lot of different stuff from how to behave to good manners and how to treat people around you. I’m even trying to teach my children to be good Christian men and women in our country. I’m not telling you to raise your child by the bible (Even though it is a good resource for fathers out there in many cases.), but raise them to be a good person in our current culture.

We need more kindness and helpfulness as well as humble people in this world. Teach your sons to be more respectful to woman and treat them well. Teach your daughters to find the right guy and to have patience while they are looking. And teach them not to fall into peer pressure in today’s society.

Teach your kids to don’t give up on the first sign of overwhelmed. Teach them how to handle it. Some parents give up and want their lifestyle of going out to the local bars every night and leave their kids at the grand-parents house or even at the sitters. What do you think they are teaching their kids? Will their kids have responsibility in life or just find the fastest way to shift it to another person? Not saying all kids end up that way, just making you think about it for a moment.

So now since I have your attention and got you thinking of a positive or negative response to this post, then I have done what I wanted to do. I could go on with this, but I’ll save that for another post. I want to get you to think about it and leave your comments about it.

So please leave them below. This is a family friendly site so please keep the comments clean.

This is one of the traits I try teaching my kids as much as possible. And this is a challenging task to do with three younger kids. But the results are very rewarding to you and to your kids at the end. My oldest son is showing kindness in many ways but sharing. There are several benefits in sharing with I get to in a little bit.

My kids don’t always share things with each other and they fight like cats and dogs in some cases. But at the end, they learn how to share or even start sharing with a big smile on their faces. Sharing can make everyone happy and bring peace to the situation.

Another benefit to sharing is that it help teach your kids to be humble with others. This is an awesome trait to have. Being humble is something everyone needs to learn.

It also brings peace and less chaos in your day. Instead of having your kids fight like dogs and cats, they will be playing in peace. Having small children in your house almost means there is very little quietness in your home.

I have seen both were sharing works and don’t work with your kids. It is a hard trait to teach to your child so be prepared for the long journey. Another reason sharing doesn’t work correctly is due to stubbornness.

Sharing is also a way to show your friendship and make new friends for your child or for you as a parent.

Leave your comments below on how you witness your kids sharing something with each other or with another kid?

Thank you for reading my blog. Please feel free to use my contact form to send me comments on how I’m doing or even if you have something you would like to get my input on.

The letter “R” was a hard one to write about today. I had already written two different posts for this letter, but both of them will be use at a later time. So for this challenge, I’m writing about routines and why they are so important in the lives of parents and children.

Routines is one of the most simplest and important things to do while being a parent. It will help keep your busy lives in check as well as keeping your sanity. I know this is the case in my house when it comes to routines. They are good in many ways and it keeps chaos out of your life.

Having a routine will keep parents organized and allow kids to follow a pattern. The younger your kids are , the more this comes into play and how much this becomes a teaching moment as well. It gives your kids structure in life. I’m not saying to not have a little bit of spontaneous life outside of your normal routine. In this case a little spontaneous chaos in your kids life will keep them on their toes and training them about change that happens in the world.

Another advantage of routines is that everyone is calm with little to no frustration. At least I hope it is calm in your house. I know it is in my house since we have a routine in place. It also helps with time management. It allows you to get your kids to the bus stop or even to school on time without having to rush in the mornings. It also helps get your kids into bed.

How does your routines work for you? If you don’t have any routines, then are you going to start one? Please leave your answer below in the comments.
