Zoom

Zoom (Photo credit: bcymet)

No, I’m not talking about the car commercial or music that has zoom in it. Today is the last day of the A to Z Challenge and the last day of April. This month has flown by so fast as well as this challenge. It was a fun trip and I enjoyed it as well as the comments from others during the challenge.

Since the challenge is now over my posts are going to be spaced out instead of being daily. I will try to post at least two to three times a week based on how many topics I can start writing about and what is happening in the news or in my life at the time.

I’m also looking for other parent bloggers or Dad bloggers to network with and to possibility of guest posting on each other’s blog. This could be a good thing if we are both trying to increase our viewership to our blogs.

I’m also looking into creating a podcast. I have a semi podcast outline that I created one day and now I’m thinking of it harder since it can boost your website as well as visitors. I’m not too sure if anyone would listen to it though. It will also help me be a better speaker since I need to be for my job at work. Please vote on the side bar of my page if I should or should not do a podcast.

Again I want to thank everyone who put on the A to Z Challenge and I hope we could do this again. I also have a dozen other posts I started creating and haven’t finished that I could use at a later time. I will also write a post on what to expect in the near future and when each topic will be scheduled to post on my blog. If you have any suggestions on what the topics should be, please feel free to leave a message below or contact me via my contact form.

Thank You for reading and following my blog. Please follow this blog on Facebook (www.facebook.com/lifeofabusydad) and Twitter (@LifeofaBusyDad) if you want to stay up to date with this blog.

First of all, since last week was a week after a major holiday and the start of baseball season for my son T I was not able to find time to write on my blog. This is why I named my blog “Life of a Busy Dad”. T’s team is doing very good this year. After 4 at-bats, he has 1 run, 3 walks, and an RBI as his team is 1-1.

Now everything is getting back to our normal routine, I have to share this picture with you. This is a picture of a wall in my kitchen by the night-light (The White bowl). I helped Busy Mom paint the kitchen a few weeks ago and she found this saying at a store while she was getting the paint.

“Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much”

This saying has three awesome approaches to life in just one saying. Let me explain to you what I mean.

“Live Well” – This is telling me we need to live a healthy life style and not just by exercising and eating the right food. Live your life to the fullest is what I live my life by in every aspect.

“Laugh Often” – This is self-explanatory. Have fun and think of the positives of life and don’t get caught up in the depression and negatives of the world. Laughing will make the world a better place and it will also keep you healthier in the aspect of your mind. Smiling and laughing always make everyone feel better about themselves and everyone around them if it is used with the next part of the saying. “Love”

“Love Much” – To me this is the most important part of the saying. We need to live with love and keep hate, anger, as well as being nasty out of our lives. It will also keep us to a better mood as to will keep everyone around us in one too. Love is a very powerful emotion that can make the world a better place as well as it could bring peace to the world.

So if you live a well-rounded life with laughing and smiling and keep love in your hearts, then you can help start changing the world to be a better place as well as teaching your children to be a positive force in the world instead of a hateful force. Our children learn from our example so pay attention to how you react around people as well as what you say because it might haunt you when your children start acting that way.

Are you good to people you don’t know? Post a Day 2011

This article was written in 12/28/2011 on my other blog http://www.fatherof4.com.

The Daily Post post a day has the following question.

Are you good to people you don’t know? How, when and why (or why not)?

I try to be nice and polite to people I don’t know all of the time.  You never know when the kindness will be returned to you when you are in need of help.

It is part of my character to be this way and it is how I’m raising my kids to be as well.  There is enough selfishness out there in the world and not enough kind, helpful people.

It is more interesting to see how people react to you after being kind and helpful to them.  Some people are so grateful for the help and sometimes offer things in return like money or coffee.  Which majority of the time I decline to take anything from them.

There are other people that you are kind to that act hostile towards you.  They are the people that don’t believe kindness comes free and that you want something like money from them for helping them or have too much pride to except the kindness of strangers.

Here is one of my favorite scriptures from the Bible.

New International Version (NIV) from http://www.biblegateway.com

Luke 10:25-37

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”

28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Why a Baseball Field Picture You Say

I finally found a picture for my blog header. It is a baseball field since that is where I planning on spending the first part of the summer at. My oldest son T is playing baseball. He is a good batter and a decent catcher / outfielder on the team he is on. He hasn’t played any games yet but he already has a battle scar from the baseball hitting him in the check. He is a little bit bruised but is just fine.

My other boy J is going to play baseball next month. His season is only four weeks long and is indoors with a soft baseball. He likes watching his brother play.

The twins, M and L, are just being two year olds and they are a hand full. They expect me to give them all of my attention especially when T is doing his homework in the evenings.

Between all four kids my day starts out at 6 AM and ends around 11 PM if I’m lucky. I’m doing this while trying to be a good husband to Busy Mom. Sometimes it is not as easy as it sounds and other times it is too easy. Yes I do work and it is sometimes stressful at work with deadlines and due dates.

That is why having date nights with your love one is a very important step in having a sane household. Else I would be pulling my hair out instead of cutting it all off like I do now. We try to have a date nigh at least once a month. It gives us a break from reality of having four kids.

Do you have date nights or something similar? Share your stories in the comments. Or feel free to use my ideas as well.
